Transitioning towards renewable energy and improving energy efficiency lie at the heart of building a sustainable energy future. The winter school aims to bring together young researchers and distinguished scholars interested in the field of energy and environmental economics to discuss timely topics in the field of renewable energy, and to explore the opportunities as well as the challenges involved in the process of clean energy transition.

Egypt is a country with vast untapped renewable energy potential and has over the past few years attracted major investments that are turning the country into a regional energy hub. The winter school sheds light on Egypt’s sustainable energy strategy and explores the country’s impressive energy landscape comprising a wide array of mega projects in solar, wind and hydro power.
